Iman, whose name means faith in Arabic, was born in Mogadishu, Somalia on July 25, 1955 and is fluent in Somali, Italian, French, English, and Arabic. Recruited by American photographer Peter Beard, Iman moved to the United States where she became a world famous supermodel. She is now CEO of Iman Cosmetics.
